The Flowering is a book of magic ~ a hand-tied bouquet of stories that tell the tale of my own becoming, a blooming from the inside out. It is an alchemical love story that combines art, plant spirit medicine and a woman’s need for Beauty.
Three years ago, hearing the call to gather stories from my writings and dream journals, I began the task of assembling the fat quarters of the fabric that is my life: a life I describe as a mixed media collage. They’ve been placed together as a scroll of collected tales, ones that begged to be told. All is one and one is all.
I soon realized that the book had a life force of its own and a powerful deva who was running things. Everything in the book has been created by me. The writings, the tiny watercolor paintings throughout, and the woman on the cover is made entirely from petals that I grew and dried from flowers in my gardens.
This woman is my soul-self, she is Flora,
the One who is here to teach the world about Magic!
One day whilst working in my garden, I was given the title of the book and a clear vision of the book’s cover. Flora, the deva of the book, knew exactly what she wanted. She had specific needs as far as style, color and paper and she hand picked some very special people to assist in the bookmaking process.
It is my belief that the stories will conjure enchantment and high magic, causing a deep stirring within the soul. It’s likely you’ll feel a strong pull to a long-forgotten place inside you, one that beckons and calls you to bring it back to life.
